Palin Resigns – cites media bias?

Talkingpointsmemo apparantly quotes her as saying:

And this political absurdity, the “politics of personal destruction” … Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn’t cost them a dime so they’re not going to stop draining public resources – spending other peoples’ money in their game.

It’s pretty insane – my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with THIS instead of progressing our state now. I know I promised no more “politics as usual,” but THIS isn’t what anyone had in mind for ALASKA.

If I have learned one thing: LIFE is about choices!

And one chooses how to react to circumstances. You can choose to engage in things that tear down, or build up. I choose to work very hard on a path for fruitfulness and productivity. I choose NOT to tear down and waste precious time; but to build UP this state and our country, and her industrious, generous, patriotic, free people!

A story to follow and to see how it relates to the readings and lecture on media bias.

  1. This is what i found on Google News released by The Associated Press just 13 hours ago announcing the “Sitting Duck Award”winner this year is Sarah Palin. I couldn’t help wondering her resign happening now is another round of being “Duck-sitting”.

  2. The question on everyone’s mind is “why is she stepping down?”. Time lists 10 possible reasons why: http://thepage.time.com/halperins-take-10-possible-reasons-for-palins-decision/ I believe that perhaps it was a case of “learned helplessness”, that she tried to do what in her mind was best for Alaska but then began to fall short of public support and proper resources, not to mention how the media must have taken a toil on her family. 3. I heard there is a pending federal investigation concerning Palin’s home and a 13 million dollar contract to build a sports complex. I’m not sure about the validity of these claims and I have yet to see them on a major media outlet. Apparently there is a possible future indictment for embezzlement and claims that she used building materials from the sports complex contract to build her own home. Basically, the claim is she authorized a contract in order to get a free house. Definitely not confirmed, but I spotted it on reddit.com today and thought it was interesting true or not. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/7/3/749722/-Brad-Blog:-Federal-Indictments-for-Palin-in-Embezzlement-Scandal-May-Be-on-the-Way
