More Sarah vs. Hillary

Good point on the last post – Sarah Palin had way less time to establish herself in the media before being thrust onto the national stage. Hillary used to get made fun of tirelessly for her hairdos in the 1990s, and the media often judged how she raised Chelsie. But she eventually established herself as a legitimate politician around 2000. Sarah Palin might be able to establish her political self more legitimately down the road.

Here’s a very interesting video from the 2008 election that Andrew Sullivan discussed on his Daily Dish blog recently. In it, Palin says Hillary Clinton needs to “plow through” media criticism and not whine about it. Practice what you preach, Sullivan says! He argues that Palin has never backed down from a fight before, so he doesn’t believe her excuses for stepping down – in part, blaming the media for the criticism she has endured.
