I saw the headlines and was naturally intrigued because it’s my home state. The reporting of this incident is a current example of how media outlets can leave out party affiliation, thus suggesting a partisan bias, as we’ve discussed in class. Looking at many different reports, NewsBusters revealed how some reported the party affiliations of the suspects,  some didn’t at all, and then others only identified the Republican individual. It’s a good piece of watchdog journalism – especially how it provides links to those news outlets so people can see for themselves.
